Description & Goal
After this year’s accelerator programme graduates could not be sent off within a physical conference. The client decided to transform their physical event into a digital one. The startup accelerator, located in Germany’s digitally most advanced office space “The Ship” aimed to present a charming and informative conference.
Technical Setup
Making use of their inviting office spaces, two cameras were positioned side by side producing a simple yet charming studio setting. Wooden benches on one side offered a great studio for panels and talks, on the other side the startups were presented with a pitching stage. All embedded within a single stream, overseen by one control workstation, controlled by one director, one cutter and one speaker manager. Processing and combining two different camera signals from the studio, and two inputs for virtual meetings and pre-recorded content.
Platform & Formats
The platform used was a customized landing page showing an embedded video player combined with a Q&A and poling platform. The program included various live and pre-recorded talks and a panel. On top a pitch competition followed by a Q&A session with 6 participating startups was held, with the winner being decided via the polling platform.
Key Learnings
- Extensive knowledge and experience of your streaming platform is a necessary precondition to ensure flexibility up until the last minute before the start of the event
- Flexibility and interchangeability of the agenda make for a fluid experience even if the agenda does not go ahead as planned
